X-Ray

Read the active source and detected supported activity for the current tab.

What X-Ray shows

X-Ray records when the current tab uses browser data and functions that Privacy Thing supports.

It separately identifies the source in control: a Trusted Site, Domain Rule, Firefox Container, Default Rule, or no active source.

Read the result

  1. Check which source is in control.
  2. Check which supported categories show activity.
  3. Open a category to inspect the available details.
  4. After changing settings, reload the tab and repeat the test.

How long activity remains

X-Ray keeps activity in memory for the current tab.

Privacy Thing clears the activity when the tab starts a new top-level navigation. Closing the tab discards it as well.

What X-Ray does not show

X-Ray does not monitor all network traffic. It does not show every action performed by a site.

No activity means only that X-Ray did not detect a supported category during the current page load.

Debug logs

Debug Mode creates a separate diagnostic log. It is off by default and is not part of X-Ray activity.
